What is required for a Prevention Professional renewal?
You must submit a completed renewal application with documentation and verification of 48 hours of continuing education specific to substance abuse prevention with 6 hours in professional ethics.
What are the minimum requirements for CPP testing?
Possesses at a minimum a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
Is a legal resident of the United States at least twenty-one years of age on the date the application is received.
Is not in violation of any ethical standards subscribed to by the department.
Is not and has not been a substance abuser or compulsive gambler during the previous two years from the date the application is received.
Has not been convicted of a felony. However, the department, in its discretion may waive this requirement upon review of the individual’s circumstances.
Has successfully completed 100 education hours with a minimum of 50 hours specific to substance abuse treatment and prevention. 30 of these hours must be of a National Prevention Training and 6 must be in professional ethics.
Has successfully completed 4000 hours supervised experience engaged in the providing of prevention services. 120 of these hours must be directly supervised in the 5 domains with a minimum of 20 hours in each domain.
