Web Accessibility Management Policy
I. Content Standards
The Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (LA-ADRA) formally adopts WCAG 2.1, Level AA as our minimum technical standard for all web content, including our public-facing information and digital resources.
II. Responsibilities & Authority
To ensure consistent oversight, the following roles and entities are designated as the authorities for digital content:
- Content Authority: The Executive Director (Lauren McNeal) is responsible for the creation and accuracy of all official content, including social media and public notices.
- Publishing & Technical Authority: Kesler Designs is the sole authorized entity for the technical implementation of the website (la-adra.org) and the management of the public certificate search databases.
- Third-Party Vendor Responsibility: Certemy.org is the third-party provider for LA-ADRA’s Self-Service Credentialing Portal and Public Registry. Certemy is responsible for the technical accessibility and WCAG compliance of the host platform and its internal workflows.
III. Approval Procedures
Before any new content or database update is published:
- Technical Screening: Kesler Designs performs a technical audit to ensure a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 and that all navigation is accessible via keyboard and screen readers.
- Executive Review: The Executive Director reviews all content for plain-language clarity and ensures that all non-text elements have appropriate alternative text.
